Happy New Year loves! I’m so excited to be kicking off this new year with a post about one of my favorite moments of last year! About a month ago, Kevin and I had the most AMAZING opportunity to stay at Loews Royal Pacific Resort for a mini staycation. The resort is only a 15 minute walk away from Universal Orlando Resort!
First of all, I have always been a Disney girl and stayed a numerous Disney hotels but never at a Universal Hotel and so I wasn’t sure what to expect! I was definitely curious as to how it would compare and to be honest, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. (and I’m not just saying this because it was sponsored.) I’m so incredibly picky about hotels and everything from the cleanliness of the rooms and property to the friendly staff was impressive. I was expecting a run-down, touristy filled hotel with average rooms and obnoxious decor but…….
instead I got a quiet, tropical oasis that was elegant yet family friendly with impeccable details and attention to everything from the room to the customer service.
It was a much needed staycation in the midst of the hectic holiday season.Loews Royal Pacific Resort is tropical oasis, decorated in a south pacific island theme and I definitely didn’t feel like I was in Orlando. Since we stayed during the holidays, the hotel was decorated with most festive trees and lights.
My favorite part of staying at Loews Royal Pacific Resort were the complimentary express passes that are included with your stay so you never have to wait in line (see details here)! Also, I loved how after you check in, a customer service rep texts you and offers to assist with anything and everything during your stay- from making dinner reservations to getting you a complimentary toothbrush if you forgot yours.
Loews Royal Pacific Resort is also pet friendly! I can’t wait to come back and bring our pup!
Now, on to the rooms! The bed was literally one of the MOST comfortable beds I’ve EVER slept on in a hotel. I always have the hardest time sleeping in hotels but these beds were amazing. I loved how pillows we had, each with a different firmness level to fit anyone’s preference. Another thing I’m usually picky about is the smell of the sheets, I can’t stand it when the sheets reek of bleach and feel stiff. I’m happy to report that these sheets were incredibly soft and SOOOO clean.
I also LOVED the modern tropical decor of the rooms, sometimes when you stay at “tropical” resorts, the furniture can feel outdated or just old but it was the exact opposite here. The murals in each room were different and so relaxing to come back to after a long day at the parks!
How amazing are these lamps!
The resort had an amazing heated pool that was perfect the chilly weather and especially great for kids!
One of my favorite spots to relax was the gorgeous Orchid Lounge, which was so beautifully sunlit during the day and was a great spot to unwind with a book.
Just outside was the Orchid Court, where there are over 400 different orchids, representing roughly 20-30 species of orchids surrounding a reflecting pool with the cutest elephants statutes in the middle. It’s the perfect place to grab a cocktail before dinner!
Around every corner was a lush, tranquil oasis that was a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. We loved unwinding underneath the bridge while listening to the waterfalls and dining at Jake’s American Bar!
Our amazing dinner at Jake’s American Bar!
Love this view under the bridge and how gorgeous are these wood chairs?
