It’s a been quite a while since my last post- a little over 3 months to be exact. Too long, but it sure feels good to be back. Summer was fleeting, too short and not sweet enough. Then Fall started and law school is once again taking over my schedule, more than ever. I remember when classes started last August and juggling both the blog and studies seemed deceptively easy. Somewhere in between then and now, life took me on a little detour. Mind you, life’s detours are never welcomed and always unexpected, but never fails to set you back on the path to where you’re supposed to be.
Lakwena Maciver, the artist behind this “I remember Paradise” mural in the backdrop, essentially captured the emotions I felt in regards to blogging these past few months. I’ve been struggling with this extreme-perfectionist voice in my head that convinced me there was always something I could do better to the point where I couldn’t tell whether anything was up to my own standards. Publishing this post is my way of slowly overcoming this mentality.
These pictures are from the Wynwood Art District during a quick getaway to South Beach. Dressed in summer essentials- a white linen blouse with open back ventilation and worn vintage levi’s, we wandered around trying to take in as much of the captivating creativity before the heat got to us.
My black Merci-Fortune clutch was the perfect accompaniment, big enough to fit everything yet small enough to conveniently carry around (not to mention a leather strap that converts it into a wristlet).

Love, I was wondering what happened to you. I’m glad all is okay and that it’s just school. I’m with you on the perfectionist thing. Trying to perfect everything, when all I really have to do is just do it and hope that the best comes out of it. So glad you’re back to blogging, even if it’s for a little while. xo
